Raise Your Intelligence About TraumA

what is TraumaIQ?

Trauma is not just something that happened in the past. It is something the nervous system, body, mind, relationships, identity, and spirit may still be carrying.

Trauma IQ helps individuals, professionals, and organizations understand trauma through a more complete lens — integrating neuroscience, psychology, biology, and spirituality to support repair, reorganization, and transformation.

When we understand trauma more intelligently, we stop asking, “What is wrong with me?” and begin asking, “What happened, what adapted, what is still protecting me, and what is ready to heal?”

Improve your health. Reclaim your life. Restore your relationships. Transform your work. Expand your capacity for abundance.

Raise your Trauma IQ.

Trauma Is More Than a Mental Health Issue

Trauma is often treated as a psychological problem, but trauma is far more than a set of symptoms.

Trauma shapes the brain, nervous system, immune system, endocrine system, body memory, relational patterns, self-concept, belief systems, and spiritual connection. It affects how we think, feel, sleep, work, love, parent, lead, create, receive, trust, and belong.

Trauma IQ exists to help people understand trauma as a whole-person, whole-system experience, and explain why healing requires more than insight.

  • It requires nervous system repair.

  • It requires biological restoration.

  • It requires psychological reorganization.

  • It requires relational safety.

  • It requires meaning, spirit, dignity, and reconnection.

What DOES Trauma IQ DO?

We Provide A More Complete Model of Trauma Education, Healing, and Transformation

Trauma IQ provides education, training, mentoring, and consulting for people who want to understand trauma more deeply and respond to it more effectively.

This work is designed for:

  • Individuals seeking to understand their own trauma patterns

  • Helping professionals who want deeper trauma-informed training

  • Organizations committed to healthier cultures and trauma-informed leadership

  • Communities seeking more humane, inclusive, and decolonized models of healing

  • Practitioners who want to integrate science, somatics, spirituality, and social awareness

TraumaIQ translates complex trauma science into language, frameworks, and practices that are practical, embodied, and transformative.

Trauma Is an Adaptation, Not a Defect

Many trauma responses are misunderstood as pathology, weakness, resistance, self-sabotage, or dysfunction.

At Trauma IQ, we begin with a different assumption:

Your symptoms may be survival intelligence.

  • Anxiety may be a nervous system scanning for danger.

  • Numbness may be protection from overwhelm.

  • Hypervigilance may be a body that learned safety was never guaranteed.

  • Perfectionism may be an attempt to prevent rejection or harm.

  • People-pleasing may be a strategy for attachment survival.

  • Disconnection may be the body’s last available form of protection.

When we understand trauma this way, healing becomes less about fixing what is broken and more about understanding what adapted, honoring what protected you, and creating the conditions for something new to emerge.

Merging science and the SACRED

Trauma IQ integrates evidence-informed knowledge from neuroscience, biology, and psychology with embodied, relational, and spiritual wisdom.

Western models of healing often separate the mind from the body, the body from the spirit, the individual from the collective, and symptoms from systems. But trauma does not live in separation. Trauma lives in the whole person and in the systems surrounding that person.

A more complete healing model must include:

  • The brain and nervous system

  • The body and biology

  • Attachment and relationships

  • Identity and meaning

  • Culture and social systems

  • Spirit, soul, and sacred connection

  • Ancestral and collective experience

  • The wisdom of the body

  • The intelligence of survival

TraumaIQ honors science without reducing human beings to data. It honors spirituality without bypassing the body. It honors personal healing while acknowledging the social and systemic conditions that shape harm.

Decolonizing the Way We Understand Healing

Trauma is not only individual. Trauma is also relational, cultural, historical, systemic, and ancestral.

Many traditional Western models of healing have focused heavily on diagnosis, symptom reduction, and individual pathology. While these models can offer valuable tools, they often fail to acknowledge the broader systems that create, compound, and maintain trauma.

Trauma IQ supports the decolonization of healing by expanding and facilitating the conversation.

Healing is not only about helping people function better in harmful systems.

Healing is also about naming harm, restoring dignity, reclaiming wisdom, and creating new ways of being.

We cannot fully heal trauma while ignoring the conditions that created it.

When healing systems ignore oppression, poverty, racism, violence, colonization, gender-based harm, ableism, spiritual disconnection, ecological grief, and collective trauma, they risk placing the burden of healing entirely on the individual.

speaking & workshops

TraumaIQ offers workshops and presentations on trauma, nervous system repair, somatic intelligence, decolonized healing, spirituality, leadership, burnout, resilience, and transformation.

Trauma IQ specializes in trauma education and consulting and is dedicated to raising the intelligence of individuals, professionals, organizations, and communities around trauma.

Founded by Shae Goodell, Trauma IQ integrates neuroscience, psychology, biology, somatic practice, spirituality, and decolonized healing perspectives to create a more complete understanding of trauma and transformation.

Trauma IQ was created from the belief that trauma cannot be fully understood through one lens alone. Trauma is not only psychological. It is neurological, biological, relational, cultural, systemic, ancestral, and spiritual.

Too often, people are given labels without being given language. They are offered coping skills without being helped to understand their nervous system. They are treated as disordered without anyone recognizing the intelligence of their adaptations. They are encouraged to heal without anyone naming the systems that harmed them.

Trauma IQ exists to change that.

OUR MISSION & Vision

The mission of TraumaIQ is to raise collective intelligence about trauma so individuals, professionals, and systems can respond to human suffering with greater accuracy, compassion, depth, and wisdom.

Trauma IQ helps people understand:

  • How trauma shapes the brain and nervous system

  • How the body stores and expresses survival

  • How early experience influences identity and relationships

  • How chronic stress affects health, work, creativity, and abundance

  • How spiritual disconnection can be part of trauma

  • How culture and systems contribute to individual suffering

  • How healing requires both personal repair and collective awareness

Trauma IQ envisions a world where trauma is no longer reduced to symptoms, diagnoses, or individual weakness.

We envision a world where trauma-informed care becomes trauma-intelligent care.

  • A world where science and spirituality are not enemies.

  • A world where the body is understood as wise.

  • A world where healing includes the nervous system, identity, culture, community, and soul.

  • A world where people are not forced to adapt endlessly to harmful systems.

  • A world where repair is personal, relational, systemic, and sacred.

The TRAUMA IQ APPROACH

The TraumaIQ approach is built around a multidimensional understanding of trauma and healing. It is not simply about learning trauma theory. It is about changing the way trauma is understood.

This work brings together:

  • Neuroscience and nervous system education

  • Trauma psychology and developmental theory

  • Somatic and body-based awareness

  • Mindfulness, breathwork, and contemplative practice

  • Spiritual meaning-making

  • Attachment and relational repair

  • Decolonized and systems-aware healing

  • Practical tools for individuals and organizations

Step 1: UNDERSTAND: We begin by learning how trauma shapes the brain, body, nervous system, relationships, identity, and worldview.

Step 2: RESTORE & Repair: We support the restoration of safety, regulation, embodiment, connection, and self-trust.

STEP 3: REBIRTH & Reorganize: We identify and transform trauma-shaped patterns, beliefs, behaviors, and relational strategies.

STEP 4: reconnection & REclaim: We reconnect with dignity, intuition, purpose, spirituality, voice, and personal power.

STEP 5: TRANFORM & TRASCEND: We move beyond survival toward integration, meaning, contribution, creativity, and abundance.

Trauma IQ honors research, but it does not worship reductionism. It values evidence, but it also values lived experience, intuition, ancestral wisdom, embodiment, and the sacred dimensions of being human.
